Name of the Software PorePy
Short Description PorePy targets simulations in deformable and fractured porous media. The software is written in Python, and emphasizes easy prototyping of numerical methods and approaches to multi-physics couplings. The main focus is processes in fractured media, which are represented as a mixed-dimensional discrete fracture matrix model. The code offers conformal meshing of fractures in 2D and 3D, as well as several flow and transport discretizations for mixed-dimensional problems. Other processes covered are elastic deformation of rocks, and hydraulic shearing of existing fractures.
The software is developed at the Department of Mathematics, University of Bergen.
